The hymen normally gets disrupted after a woman has had sexual intercourse or even after strenuous physical activity or tampon use. Sometimes, for cultural or other personal reasons (for example, an upcoming marriage), a woman would like to restore a more intact, tighter hymenal ring and experience vaginal bleeding and pain with the "first" sexual intercourse.

Vaginal tightening/ Vaginoplasty, often referred to as a designer vagina, is a procedure to enhance the feelings of sexual gratification and should allow the woman to receive and give more pleasure when making love. For women who’ve experienced childbirth, vaginal muscles tend to expand during the delivery, the result can often be weak, loose, vaginal muscles. This can be embarrassing, uncomfortable and can even lead to sexual dissatisfaction or difficulty. Even after exercise the condition of the vaginal muscles may not improve. The aim of surgery is to improve the tone of the vagina by tightening the vaginal muscles and supporting tissues.

Every woman is constructed slightly differently. It is not uncommon for a woman to feel dissatisfied with her labia minora (inner lips of the vagina), especially if they are particularly long. In many cases women are just not happy with parts of their genitalia. This can be embarrassing, uncomfortable and can even lead to sexual dissatisfaction or difficulty. Women with exceptionally long or unequal lengths of the labia minora can have them aesthetically reshaped.
